I'm a UI developer with a passion for thoughtful design.
I have five years experience working with various languages and frameworks. While my passions lie with front end development and UX, I'm comfortable with back end development too. I also have experiencing managing a team.
I keep up with the latest trends in programming and web development, as well as contribute to the open source community when I can.
August 2013 to present
I've been involved in some great projects at Ensighten. Most recently I've lead the effort to redesign our UIs into something more cohesive and modern, which has entailed working with designers, creating a reference app and comprehensive style guide, as well as helping other teams to adopt the new styles.
Before this, I created the front and back end for a new product. This involved authoring a Java based REST API, as well as an AngularJS front end. It interacts with several different services seamlessly, presenting complex data in a simple UI.
I also have experience handling legacy products. Since September 2015 I've been managing a team to take an unloved old product and refactor it into something beautiful. The effort is still ongoing but great strides have been made so far, both in terms of the product's UI, front and back end code, as well as the deployment process.
July 2011 to August 2013
I was also the chief developer of an invoicing and billing platform, which entailed handling every aspect of the project, including database creation, back end code, design and implementation of the front end, as well as integrating with legacy systems.
The effort to modernise a recent acquisition, a web based forum system was also led by me. This involved a substantial redesign, a brand new instant notification system and a new digest service for users.
I was also involved with interviewing, press releases and liaising with customers.
